Here’s how to make sure your skin (and your body) are ready for the best tattoo experience possible!
🧴 1 Week Before
Moisturize your skin daily! Keeping your skin hydrated for at least a week before your session helps the ink settle better, makes the process less painful, and helps your artist work faster.
😴 The Night Before
Get a good night’s sleep! Your body heals and handles pain better when you’re well rested.
🍽️ On the Day of Your Appointment
Eat a good meal before coming in — don’t show up on an empty stomach!
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout your session.
Avoid alcohol, excess caffeine, or any blood-thinning medication before your appointment.
Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed.
Please don’t apply any products on your skin where the tattoo will go — no lotion, no perfume, nothing.
No need to worry about shaving — that’s part of my job and I’ll handle it for you.
You can bring a light snack in case you want to take a small break during the session.
🚫 Important!
Do NOT come in with numbing cream already applied. In our studio, numbing products can only be used if applied by the artist and after a patch test has been done.
💡I’ve put together a bunch of tips and advice about tattoos that you can check out before getting your tattoo.
Tips & Advices
🩹 Days 1–5: Keep It Clean, Keep It Safe
Your skin is still open and more vulnerable to infection during this stage, so cleanliness is key!
Wash your tattoo twice a day with unscented soap and clean hands.
Pat it dry gently with a clean towel or paper towel — no rubbing!
No ointments or creams yet! Your tattoo just needs to stay clean and breathe.
Avoid touching it or letting it come in contact with dirty surfaces (pets, gym equipment, etc.).
Avoid any physical activity that makes you sweat — sweat can introduce bacteria and cause infection.
🌿 Days 6–30: Moisturize & Let It Heal Naturally
By now, your tattoo might start peeling or itching — that’s totally normal!
Do not pick or peel the scabs! Pulling them off can also pull out ink and leave patchy spots.
Keep your tattoo hydrated by applying a thin layer of moisturizer once or twice a day. It’ll help the scabs come off naturally and reduce the itch. Good options include coconut oil, aloe vera, or olive oil.
Avoid tight clothing and be gentle when drying your skin (still pat, don’t drag!).
☀️ A Few More Things!
No sun exposure — keep it covered or shaded.
No swimming, soaking, or saunas until it’s fully healed.
Avoid heavy sweating or intense workouts for a while.
Your tattoo will take about 30 days to fully heal and reveal its final look — totally worth the wait!
Take good care of it, and it’ll stay amazing for life. 🖤
